American Martial Arts Academy - Naperville is has been growing fast because of our students and parents support.  We are glad to see our students are improving so fast within just a few months; both physically and mentally.

As we are moving towards the 2nd half of the year, there are a few updates for students successful training experience here at AMAA

American Martial Arts Academy – Naperville 3rd Quarter class schedule has been posted on the website. It changed a little bit and it is easier to look.

There are also few upcoming events and tournaments information.

1)      Summer Sparring and Competition Form camp

We are having our first Sparring/competition Form Camp next week. As you may have known, unlikely other taekwondo schools in Naperville area, American Martial Arts Academy competes nationally, and our competition team and coaching staffs registered in USA Taekwondo, the official United States Taekwondo Governing Body.

Our most important goal is for our students to have the best possible training, but many of our students and parents do not have a lot of time to practice during the school year. Our summer camp (July 13-22nd) is a great opportunity for students to improve on their Sparring and Competition Form skills within a short period of time by having an intense training.  It is a great time for us to prepare for the tournaments that we are planning to participate. Please see the attachment. There are a lot of benefits for students.

2)      Tournament

After Sparring/Competition Form Camp, we are going to participate on 2010 Hanmadang(non-sparring competition, July 23rd -25th) and other sparring tournaments in Aug, Sept, Oct (TBA)

For those who are willing to compete nationally next year and on, tournament experience is necessary. In effort to provide more experience and confidence, we are going to have an inner tournament for those who are participating summer sparring/form camp.

3)       MDK News from Junior National Championship

Our Modern Day Knight Competition Team did a great job at 2010 USA Junior Olympics! We have 4 National Champions and 3 final lists.  We plan to have our Naperville students participate National Junior Olympics next year and on. Competition experience will motivate and strengthen our students, and it is one way to get the best out of what they train. To be a champion is great, but we value the process and journey towards champion; hard working.

4)      Learning Center

Our learning center has been operating since June 14th. Our students are having great time. Their academics are improving quickly over these few weeks, and also have other exciting activities such as: swimming, indoor/outdoor sports, field trips, library, art and craft, and reading book competition (those who read most books get awarded)

We still have 6 more weeks to go, if you would like to join, please see me, front desk, or Miss Emily Jackson (Learning center teacher)

Thank you!
